Curt Cobain and Ritalin

It has been several years since the suicide death of legendary rock performer, Kurt Cobain. His death ended a long term battle with drugs, alcohol and other suicide attempts. Over 10,000 people to date have attempted suicide in memorial to him.

What is it that would make a rich and famous rock star want to take his own life? The facts behind this story are that Mr. Cobain had his body, mind and spirit altered by drugs since the age of 4.

As a small boy, Kurt Cobain was an active child, who liked to sing and create things. However, at some point they decided he was hyperactive and put him on Ritalin.

Because of the side effects of Ritalin, he was unable to sleep at night so they gave him sleeping pills. He followed this process all throughout elementary school and Jr. High. By his High School years, with drugs being a part of his every day life and his mind completely distorted from a lifetime of chemicals, it became easy to turn to heavier and "illegal" drugs. Thus, beginning his transgression to death.

How different is this story than little Johnny being given a pill all of his life for every cold, flu, headache, scrape or stomach ache than turning to alcohol and marijuana when can't make the wrestling team, he's having trouble in math, being shunned by his peers or his girlfriend dumps him?

Prescription medications are the third leading cause of death every year. However, the effects on our society and future societies has become even more devastating. Today's cures are tomorrow's diseases.

There is only one healer, it is not a pill, a shot or a surgeon's knife, it is God, Himself, and the body from within. Chiropractic does not treat the symptoms or the disease. Chiropractic does not cure the disease. This can only be accomplished by nature form within. The body always knows what to do unless it is interfered with. Chiropractic seeks to remove this interference. Sooner or later, DRUGS KILL WHETHER PUSHED OR PRESCRIBED. CHIROPRACTIC SEEKS TO SAVE.

"The natural healing force is the greatest healing force in getting man well."
~Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine

MD's and Antibiotics

Many health professionals claim pediatricians unnecessarily prescribe antibiotics for children.

Yet, according to a study published by the American Academy of Pediatrics, doctors say parents are to blame.

According to the article, pediatricians give these often harmful and unnecessary drugs to children because parents demand them. Ironically, the study also faulted parents for giving their children antibiotics without seeking physician advice - even though it acknowledged that physicians will often prescribe the drugs anyway, merely because the parent requested them.

Doctors conducting the study stated:

"Growing bacterial resistance to antibiotics represents a global threat to the health of the world's population. If parents can better understand the role of antibiotics in the treatment of disease, they may exert less pressure on physicians to disperse antibiotics inappropriately."

The study focused its criticism on the parents rather than on the doctors who often fail to act in the parents' best interest by failing to educate parents and instead provide drugs on demand.

Prozac and Children

Eli Lilly, the manufacturer of Prozac, started a nationwide advertising campaign to target consumers directly with the much- criticized antidepressant. It is possibly the biggest campaign ever launched directly at consumers for a prescription drug.

At the same time, Eli Lilly is trying to gain Food and drug Administration approval for pediatric antidepressants. Lilly filed an application with the FDA to test Prozac on kids under 18.

Prozac is reported to have dozens, if not hundreds, of dangerous side effects. Lilly has been sued many times because of Prozac's adverse effects. The latest occurred in Louisville, Kentucky, where Lilly lawyers quietly reached agreements with the families of the victims of a Prozac user who killed eight and wounded twelve in a printing-plant shooting spree. Tow dozen more lawsuits are pending.

Executives of Lilly, such as CEO Randall Tobias, who took home 46.68 million n compensation, often say the company is just trying to help people suffering from depression.

A company spokesman explained, "Executive compensation at Lilly is tied closely to company performance."

Before anyone takes Prozac, it is advised they ask their doctor for a printed list of all the side effect of the drug and an explanation of those side effects can do to a person.
